LEGO sets retiring in 2026 are flagged on lego.com with a small "Retiring soon" badge, and on October 10, 2026 the official Retiring soon page listed 275 products, 233 of them building sets. lego.com gives no retirement dates. This guide sorts that list by theme, pulls out the 33 sets marked 18+, and labels every date that comes from a third party.

TL;DR: 233 sets carry the Retiring soon badge on lego.com (checked Oct 10, 2026). For adults, 33 are marked 18+, from $26.99 to $429.99, plus the 16+ 75192 Millennium Falcon at $849.99. lego.com publishes no dates; Brick Fanatics expects the flagship sets on its list to leave by the end of 2026, a fan-site reading. Sold-out sets can be missing from the list, so check the theme page too.

PATCH: Updated Oct 10, 2026: re-checked against lego.com. Added the Super Mario and Sonic rows to the theme table, 40814 to the per-piece ranking and 77243 to the cheapest 18+ sets; noted that 40795 is on the Retiring soon page under BrickHeadz and that sold-out 75389 The Dark Falcon is on neither listing; corrected what the Exclusives flag means.

LEGO sets retiring in 2026: the quick answer

Every set below carried lego.com's Retiring soon badge on October 10, 2026. The official Retiring soon page showed 275 products: 233 building sets plus 42 other items (mostly Nike x LEGO clothing and shoes, plus plush toys, key chains, toy swords and other accessories). City has the most retiring sets (24), then Friends (23) and Disney (17). For adult builders the list to watch is the 33 sets marked 18+ in the table further down.

Key Takeaways

  • 233 building sets carry the Retiring soon badge on lego.com (Oct 10, 2026). 172 of them were Available now; 41 were on back order with "Will ship in 60 days".
  • 33 sets are marked 18+, worth $5,166.67 at list price together. The most expensive is 42215 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator ($429.99); the 16+ 75192 Millennium Falcon ($849.99) tops the whole list.
  • No official dates. lego.com says only that the sets "will be officially retired very soon". December 31, 2026 is a fan-site date, not LEGO's.
  • Sold-out sets can be missing from the list. The Star Wars theme page showed 17 badged sets; the six marked Sold out were not on the Retiring soon page.

Overview: how lego.com flags LEGO sets retiring in 2026

lego.com has no retirement calendar. A set gets a "Retiring soon" badge on its product page and appears in a category that the old /categories/retiring-soon address now redirects to, /categories/last-chance-to-buy. The page opens with "Going, going…nearly gone!" and says the sets "will be officially retired very soon", adding "but you still have time." That is the whole official statement. There is no date on the page or on any product page we checked.

LEGO's help article on retired sets explains the reason in one line: "sometimes we stop making older sets to make room for new ideas!" Once a set is gone, the same page sends buyers elsewhere: "Check out BrickLink.com! It's often the best place to find retired sets and connect with other fans."

Builders on Reddit treat any date with caution. When a builder asked in September whether LEGO had quietly retired 76303 Tumbler without notice, the top reply in the r/lego thread put it bluntly:

"Retirement dates are just darts on a board. If the stock ran out sooner then that's that." u/A_Pointy_Rock on r/lego, September 17, 2026

So read the list below as "LEGO has said these are going", not "these are going on a given day". If a set matters to you, the badge is the signal; the date is a guess.

The 18+ LEGO sets retiring in 2026

These are the 33 sets marked 18+ on lego.com that carried the Retiring soon badge on October 10, 2026, most expensive first. Price is the US list price on lego.com that day; price per piece is our arithmetic (list price divided by pieces). "Exclusives" is a second lego.com flag, which lego.com describes as sets "available at LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and through select retailers, before they are available anywhere else"; 13 of the 33 carry it.

The cheapest per piece is 10309 Succulents ($0.06), followed by 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System, 21333 The Starry Night, 40814 Baby Elephant in the Sky and 10326 Natural History Museum (all $0.07). The dearest per piece are 42215 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator and 75406 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle ($0.18 each). If you want the most model for the money before these go, the four big Ideas and Icons buildings (21353, 21356, 10326, 10341) all sit at or under nine cents a piece.

One set outside the table belongs on any adult watchlist: 75192 Millennium Falcon is marked 16+, not 18+. Its product page showed the Retiring soon badge, $849.99, 7,541 pieces and "Available now" with a limit of 5. LEGO's own description still reads "With 7,500 elements, this LEGO® model of the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs is our biggest ever"; the spec box gives the exact 7,541.

Retiring Sets by Theme

Counted from the same October 10 list (building sets only), these are the themes with four or more retiring sets. "Other" is lego.com's own label for sets outside a named theme, such as 40814 Baby Elephant in the Sky and 40179 Mosaic Maker.

None of the retiring City, Friends, DUPLO, Minecraft or NINJAGO sets is marked 18+. The adult retirements cluster in Ideas (all 7 sets are 18+), LEGO Icons (all 6), Botanicals (all 4) and Technic (2 of 12).

A theme count from the Retiring soon page is a floor, not a total. Sold-out sets can be missing from the page while keeping their badge on the theme page. On October 10 the Star Wars theme page showed 17 building sets with the Retiring soon badge. The Retiring soon page filed 10 of them under Star Wars and 40795 Luke Skywalker (Rebel Pilot) under BrickHeadz. The other six, including 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser ($649.99, 5,374 pieces), were marked Sold out and were not on the page. One more sold-out Star Wars set, 75389 The Dark Falcon, had the badge on its product page but appeared on neither listing.

Which retiring sets are already hard to get

Stock status tells you more than any date. Of the 233 retiring building sets, 172 were Available now on October 10, 41 showed "Will ship in 60 days", and 20 had a fixed ship date of October 22 or October 24, 2026. Among the 18+ sets, the back-ordered ones include 75685 Emerald City Wall Art, 21355 The Evolution of STEM, 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet, 76329 Miles Morales' Mask and 10309 Succulents.

Brick Fanatics noted the same pattern in September: the sets "might sell out at LEGO.com weeks or even months ahead of that date", and 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion "can't be ordered at all in the US". It was not on lego.com's Retiring soon page on October 10 either.

Builders expect the window to close early. In the same September r/lego thread, u/Trustoryimtold wrote: "Everything good that’s retiring will be gone by cyber Monday". On 10326 Natural History Museum, u/HolyLancer9 wrote in August: "Feels like this one is ALWAYS out of stock or on backorder."

Third-party retirement dates, labelled

Because lego.com gives no dates, every date in this section is a fan site's reading, not LEGO's.

  • Brick Fanatics, September 14, 2026: "The LEGO Group has added a handful of new sets to its 'retiring soon' page, confirming they'll be leaving shelves by the end of 2026." Its table names ten flagship sets, among them 75192 Millennium Falcon, 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, 21333 The Starry Night, 21353 The Botanical Garden, 10326 Natural History Museum, 10335 The Endurance and 43263 Beauty and the Beast Castle. The "end of 2026" is Brick Fanatics' conclusion from the badge.
  • Brick Fanatics, January 7, 2026: listed 31 Star Wars sets for 2026, split between July 31 and December 31. Three sets in its December list (75382 TIE Interceptor, 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer and 75397 Jabba's Sail Barge) carried no Retiring soon badge on lego.com on October 10. A January date is a forecast; the badge is the confirmation.

Our rule of thumb from those two examples: trust the badge, treat dates as a planning aid, and re-check the product page before you buy.

Our take

Based on the lego.com list and the stock data above, the retiring sets worth deciding on now are the big 18+ buildings that are still Available now and cheap per piece: 10326 Natural History Museum, 21353 The Botanical Garden, 21356 River Steamboat and 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System. They are under nine cents a piece, and Reddit builders already describe the Natural History Museum as often out of stock or on back order. For the Millennium Falcon the question is budget, not timing: it was in stock at $849.99 with a limit of 5. What we would not do is wait for a published date: lego.com does not publish one, and 61 of the 233 sets already showed a back order or a later ship date. If you would rather put the money toward something new, the November 2026 wave brings the 12,060-piece 21065 Sagrada Família at $799.99.

How we checked this

On October 10, 2026 we read all 275 products on lego.com's Retiring soon page in a desktop browser, taking theme, price, pieces, age mark and stock label from the page's product data, and opened the product pages behind the counts that needed it (the Star Wars and Technic sets missing from the main list among them). The labelled dates come from the two Brick Fanatics posts in the references, read the same day. The Reddit quotes were copied from the thread data. Price per piece and totals are our arithmetic. A second pass then compared every number with our source table, and we re-checked each flagged line on lego.com before fixing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which LEGO sets are retiring in 2026? On October 10, 2026 lego.com marked 275 products Retiring soon, 233 of them building sets. City (24), Friends (23) and Disney (17) have the most. The biggest names include 75192 Millennium Falcon, 10326 Natural History Museum, 21333 The Starry Night and 42215 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator.

Does LEGO publish retirement dates? No. lego.com only shows a Retiring soon badge and says the sets will be officially retired very soon. Its help page says LEGO sometimes stops making older sets to make room for new ideas. Dates you see elsewhere, such as December 31, 2026, come from fan sites like Brick Fanatics.

Is the LEGO Millennium Falcon 75192 retiring? Yes. Its lego.com product page carried the Retiring soon badge on October 10, 2026, at $849.99 for 7,541 pieces, ages 16+, Available now with a limit of 5. Brick Fanatics lists it among the flagship sets due to retire by the end of 2026, a third-party date.

How many adult LEGO sets are retiring? 33 of the 233 retiring building sets are marked 18+ on lego.com, from $26.99 (two Speed Champions F1 cars, 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 and 77246 Visa Cash App RB VCARB 01) to 42215 Volvo EC500 Hybrid Excavator at $429.99. Add up every one and the list prices come to $5,166.67 for 53,117 pieces.

Why did a retiring LEGO set disappear from the Retiring soon page? Sold-out sets can be missing from lego.com's Retiring soon listing while keeping the badge on their theme page. On October 10, 2026 the Star Wars theme page showed 17 building sets with the badge. The six marked Sold out were not on the Retiring soon page, and none of the 233 building sets on that page was marked Sold out.

Where can I buy a LEGO set after it retires? LEGO's own help page points to BrickLink, which it calls often the best place to find retired sets and connect with other fans. Expect to pay the seller's price, not the lego.com list price, once a set is gone.
