LEGO Daft Punk Set: Confirmed, but No Price or Date Yet

If you read that the LEGO Daft Punk set comes out in 2027, that came from fan sites, not from LEGO. The LEGO newsroom and the LEGO Ideas blog confirmed on Oct 22 that the Alive 2007 pyramid stage will become a set, and gave no price, no piece count and no release date. The newsroom's only "2027" is its closing line, "More to come in 2027.", and it doesn't say what is coming.

Checked on the LEGO newsroom, LEGO Ideas and lego.com US on Oct 30 and 31. How we checked is at the end.

What Happened: the LEGO Daft Punk set announcement

On Oct 21, Daft Punk's "WDPK 83.7" stream ended with a 30-second teaser of a red 2x4 LEGO brick. The next day LEGO published the partnership in its newsroom, dated Billund, Oct 22. It covers "product, content and brand experiences", and its first milestone is the Ideas submission, which "will now go into development".

The LEGO Ideas blog posted the same day that the Daft Punk Concert "has been selected to become an official LEGO® Ideas set". LEGO's designers are reworking it, "working closely with Fan Designer" RobotRock.

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at the LEGO Group, framed the partnership as a first step: "This is just the beginning of a bigger journey". The release names no second product.

The 2027 release date started with fan coverage. The Brick Fan wrote that there was "no information on when it will be released", then in the same sentence put it in 2027. On Oct 31, lego.com had no product page: a search for "daft punk" on the US site went straight to the partnership page, listed under "Upcoming partnerships".

How the Daft Punk Concert got through LEGO Ideas

This took six years. The project won the grand prize in the LEGO Ideas Music to Our Ears challenge in 2020, the newsroom says, and later passed 10,000 supporters, the mark that sends an idea to LEGO's review board.

The review did not end in a yes. In the first review announcement of 2025, the Ideas team put it in the Parking Lot, which the blog describes as extra review time before a final decision. StoneWars dates that to Oct 30, 2025. On July 14, the 2025-3 results still listed it there, "from 2025-1", next to Lunch Atop a Skyscraper.

What the LEGO Daft Punk set might look like

Nobody outside LEGO knows yet. LEGO's own image of the fan model carries a "FAN MODEL - NOT FINAL PRODUCT" band. The Ideas page describes RobotRock's version: "This 2000-piece set was quite the challenge", built around "a rotating box of transparent bricks inside a pyramid" that "is powered by a motor", with lights inside. LEGO hasn't said whether the motor or the lights stay, so treat both as the fan's design.

The robots themselves have been in LEGO form before. The Ideas page notes their "LEGO debut" in Pharrell Williams' film Piece by Piece, and StoneWars adds that Fortnite has LEGO minifigure skins of the duo. u/TheYGuy366 made the same point on r/DaftPunk on the day of the teaser: "Find it funny that this is technically not the first time Daft Punk and Lego will have collabed."

Why It Matters: what a LEGO Ideas Daft Punk set could cost

LEGO hasn't said, and the fan model's size is no guide once LEGO's designers rebuild it. What lego.com does show is the band Ideas sets sell in. On Oct 31, the first 22 of the 29 products on its Ideas theme page were all 18+, from $49.99 for 21365 Love Birds (750 pieces) to $349.99 for 21373 Downton Abbey (4,711). Our LEGO themes guide puts Ideas among the themes where every display set we track is 18+.

These are the four of those 22 closest to the fan model's 2,000 pieces, with price per piece by our arithmetic:

SetPiecesPrice on Oct 31Per piece
21354 Twilight The Cullen House2,001$219.9911.0¢
21376 Orange Cat1,755$99.995.7¢
21349 Tuxedo Cat1,710$99.995.8¢
21333 Vincent van Gogh: The Starry Night2,316$169.997.3¢

Desk note: At roughly the same size, the dearest of the four cost more than twice the cheapest on Oct 31, by our arithmetic. Piece count alone did not set an Ideas price that day, so it is no forecast for this one.

On r/lego, price came up on the day of the teaser. The highest-scored comment we found in that thread, 339 points from u/DryBonesStan on Oct 21, joked about both price and minifigures:

There is nothing to buy or pre-order yet. The two official pages to watch are the LEGO Ideas blog and lego.com's partnership page. If you need a present for a Daft Punk fan before then, our LEGO gifts for adults list sticks to sets lego.com sells now.

Our take

Wait for LEGO's own date and price, and ignore "2027 release" headlines until lego.com lists the set. LEGO has confirmed the stage, the designer and the partnership, and on Oct 31 nothing else.

What we don't know yet: price, size, minifigures, and whether the motor survives the redesign. On our watchlist: lego.com's Coming soon page and the LEGO Ideas blog, checked with each new LEGO Ideas review announcement, starting with the 2026-1 results.

This take uses only the official pages and sources cited above, checked Oct 31.

How we checked this

We read the LEGO newsroom release and lego.com's partnership page on Oct 30 and 31, and the LEGO Ideas blog posts and project page in a browser on Oct 31. A lego.com US search for "daft punk" showed where the site sends shoppers. Prices come from the first 22 products on lego.com's Ideas theme page on Oct 31; price per piece is our arithmetic. Earlier music sets come from Brickset. Fan coverage from StoneWars and The Brick Fan is labelled as theirs. Reddit comments were read through Arctic Shift.

Helmets, minifigures, where to buy, Fortnite and earlier music sets

Is there a LEGO Daft Punk helmet set, or other Daft Punk sets? LEGO hasn't announced one. The only product it has named is the Ideas pyramid stage. StoneWars points out that the release doesn't clarify "whether, in addition to the Ideas set, more buildable products are in the works".

Will the LEGO Daft Punk set have Thomas and Guy-Manuel minifigures? LEGO hasn't listed the contents. Its partnership film shows "the duo's minifigures", and StoneWars notes that the fan design puts both robots, GM08 and TB3, on the pyramid stage. LEGO's designers are rebuilding the model, so the final figures are not confirmed.

Will the LEGO Daft Punk set be sold on lego.com? LEGO hasn't said where it will be sold. The current Ideas line is sold on lego.com, whose Ideas theme page listed 29 products on Oct 31.

Is the LEGO Daft Punk set a real set or Fortnite content? A physical set. The LEGO newsroom says the fan idea will "officially become a LEGO set that fans around the world can build and enjoy across generations", and the LEGO Ideas blog calls it an official LEGO Ideas set. Neither announcement mentions Fortnite in its text.

Is this the first LEGO set based on a music act? No. Brickset lists 21306 The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas, 2016), 31206 The Rolling Stones (LEGO Art, 2022) and 21339 BTS Dynamite (LEGO Ideas, 2023). Brickset's exit dates for all three fall in 2024 or earlier.
