LEGO Starry Night 21333 retiring is now on lego.com itself, not only on fan-site lists. On October 19, 2026 the set's product page showed the Retiring soon badge next to Exclusives, with Available now, a limit of 5 per order and the US price of $169.99. This brief covers what the page shows, what fan sites say about the date, and how the Van Gogh set compares with the LEGO wall art that is staying, including the other Van Gogh set, Sunflowers.

Key Takeaways

  • Retiring soon badge on lego.com, checked October 19, 2026, with Exclusives, Available now and Limit 5.
  • $169.99 for 2,316 pieces, about 7.3 cents a piece, 18+, with 1 minifigure and 4.7 stars from 448 reviews.
  • No official date. Brick Fanatics dates its release to May 25, 2022 and its retirement to December 31, 2026.
  • The other Van Gogh has no badge: 31215 Sunflowers was Available now; Brick Fanatics dates it to December 31, 2027.
  • Wall art leaving: of the wall-art sets we checked, only The Starry Night and 31216 Keith Haring carried the badge.

What Happened: the badge on 21333

The 21333 product page we opened on October 19, 2026 shows Exclusives and Retiring soon above the name. Below the $169.99 price it reads "Available now" and "Limit 5", and it offers 1,105 LEGO Insiders points at the normal rate (2,210 that day, the last of a double points week), which works out to 6.5 points per dollar. lego.com files the set under LEGO Ideas, and says it was "Created in collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)."

The set recreates "Van Gogh’s 1889 painting" in three dimensions. It "can be displayed freestanding or hung by its wall hook", an adjustable arm holds the Van Gogh minifigure at an easel, and lego.com says it "measures over 12 in. (30 cm) high, 15 in. (37.5 cm) wide and 5 in. (12.5 cm) deep". The page quotes the fan designer: "Van Gogh’s work has always fascinated me, and "The Starry Night" is one of his most iconic works." That is attributed to "LEGO® Fan designer Truman Cheng".

On the date, everything comes from fan sites. Brick Fanatics' retiring page, last updated October 13, 2026, puts 21333 under "Retires December 31, 2026", and its September 5 table dates the release to May 25, 2022. If that holds, the set will have been on sale for about four years and seven months. Our LEGO Ideas retiring list has the other seven Ideas sets with the badge.

Why It Matters: the LEGO wall art that stays

LEGO's framed art sets mostly sit in the Art theme, which had nine products on October 19, 2026. Only one of them, 31216 Keith Haring Dancing Figures, had the Retiring soon badge, and it was Sold out. We opened the product pages of the Art sets you can hang next to The Starry Night. Prices are lego.com US list prices; cents per piece is our arithmetic.

Two things stand out. The Starry Night costs less than the Van Gogh Sunflowers, Monet and Klimt sets, and in this table only The Milky Way Galaxy (6.5 cents) and the sold-out Keith Haring (6.8 cents) cost less per piece. And Van Gogh fans are not losing their only option: 31215 Sunflowers costs $30 more for 299 more pieces, had no badge and was Available now.

Older art sets show how this ends. Brick Fanatics listed 31208 Hokusai The Great Wave, 31213 Mona Lisa and 31217 The Fauna Collection Tiger for July 31, 2026. On October 19 the Great Wave and the Tiger read Sold out, and the Mona Lisa read Retired Product.

What builders are saying

The Starry Night had 4.7 stars from 448 reviews on lego.com, far more than any other set in our table. Rivithed, writing on June 6, 2022, less than two weeks after Brick Fanatics' release date: "Love the depth and challenge of building shades of blue pieces." The review adds: "Relaxing and rewarding to build."

Nicklina wrote on January 27, 2026: "This was my first big Lego build and it was so fun and relaxing." The same reviewer said they "still managed to complete within about 12 hours". And in September 2023 WilyCamel091 wrote: "I would love to see another work of his captured in Lego!" On October 19, 2026, lego.com listed a second Van Gogh set, 31215 Sunflowers.

Our take

Based on the lego.com pages and the fan-site dates above, The Starry Night is an easy call if you want it: it is Available now with the badge, it costs less than the Sunflowers, Monet and Klimt sets, and fan sites expect it to go at the end of the year. If you are choosing between the two Van Gogh sets for a wall, Sunflowers had no badge and Brick Fanatics dates it a year later, to December 31, 2027, so The Starry Night is the one with a clock on it. If you only want one big framed set and value matters most, The Milky Way Galaxy is cheaper per piece and has no badge. How we checked this

On October 11, 2026 we opened the lego.com product page of 21333 and read its Customer Reviews, read the LEGO Art theme page from the page data, and opened the product pages of 31215, 31212, 31220, 31221, 31218, 31214, 31216, 31208, 31213 and 31217, copying price, pieces, badges and stock from the visible page. On October 17 and again on October 19 we read all of them, including the 21333 reviews. We read Brick Fanatics' retiring page (updated October 7, re-read on October 17 and 19 in its October 13 version) and its September 5, 2026 update for the dates. Cents per piece and points per dollar are our arithmetic, and a second pass compared every number with our source table.
