LEGO Dark Falcon 75389 Retiring: Back From Sold Out, No Date

TL;DR: 75389 The Dark Falcon has lego.com's Retiring soon badge at $179.99 and read Temporarily out of stock on October 25, 2026, after reading Sold out in every check we made from October 10. LEGO gives no date; Brick Fanatics lists December 31, 2026. A label change is not stock yet, but it is the first move in 15 days.

lego.com's own Retiring soon list skips it, but the LEGO Dark Falcon 75389 retiring badge is real: it sits on the set's product page. On Oct 25 that page changed from Sold out to Temporarily out of stock. If you want this ship from lego.com, the decision is whether to watch that page for the next few days.

Key Takeaways

  • Retiring soon badge on the 75389 product page, with no Exclusives label. Price $179.99.
  • Sold out to Temporarily out of stock on Oct 25, the only change our tracker logged for it in October.
  • 1,579 pieces, ages 10+, about 11.4 cents a piece; six minifigures.
  • No LEGO date. Brick Fanatics files it under a December 31 date.
  • 4.7 stars from 162 reviews on lego.com.

What Happened: the badge nobody lists

The 75389 product page shows the Retiring soon label above the name and $179.99 below it. On Oct 25 the stock line read "Temporarily out of stock". There was no Add to Bag button and no ship date.

That label is new. Every check we made from October 10 to Oct 23, six in all, found the page on Sold out with the badge on. Our lego.com change log recorded the switch to Temporarily out of stock on Oct 25. The two labels are not the same: our study of sold-out sets, linked below, treats Sold out as gone and Temporarily out of stock as worth watching daily.

The odd part is where the badge does not appear. Our guide on how to tell if a LEGO set is retiring found 75389 missing from lego.com's Retiring soon category on October 10 and again on Oct 18, even though its own page carried the badge. On Oct 10 it was also missing from the 124 products on the Star Wars theme page. A shopper who browsed the category would never learn it is leaving.

The set: a Millennium Falcon from another timeline

The Dark Falcon comes from the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ special. Nerdist's launch report, on June 28, 2024, said the set "comes with six Minifigures" and named them: "Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke, and Jedi Vader". It was already on pre-order when Nerdist wrote, at $179.99, with an August 1 ship date.

BricksUp gave the same price and date, but counted "a total of 1,578 pieces". The lego.com page lists 1,579. We use lego.com's number; one brick is not worth a fight.

The ages mark is 10+, not 18+. lego.com pitches it as a "Top gift for kids and any Star Wars™ fans", unlike the 7,541-piece Falcon, which is marked 16+.

Desk note: Of the three Millennium Falcons on lego.com on Oct 25, only one could be added to a bag: 75375, the 921-piece version at $84.99. 75389 and 75192 both had the Retiring soon badge and both read Temporarily out of stock. By our arithmetic, the Dark Falcon costs 11.4 cents a piece and 75192 11.3 cents.

Why It Matters: LEGO Dark Falcon 75389 retiring next to the other Falcons

The Dark Falcon is one of 20 Star Wars building sets with the badge in our LEGO Star Wars sets retiring in 2026 list, and one of eight that were Sold out on Oct 15. Here it is beside the two other Falcons, from our lego.com catalog fetch of October 25.

The midi 75375 is the cheapest per piece and the only one in stock, with no badge. The big 75192 has its own story; our UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 retiring page tracks it.

Does a Temporarily out of stock label turn into stock? Sometimes. Our study of whether sold out LEGO sets come back found six of 35 sets that hit Sold out in October returned, and each sold out again within three days. The Dark Falcon has not returned yet; it has only changed labels.

What builders are saying

On lego.com the Dark Falcon had 4.7 stars from 162 reviews. Holy_Cannoli_Batman, five stars in August 2024, put it simply: "The dark millennium falcon is easily one of the best sets so far!"

On Reddit the talk is about how hard it is to find. In a September 30 thread on a double points promotion, u/AcceptableClimate210 explained a store trip:

Reddit comment about buying the LEGO Dark Falcon because it was sold out nearby

Reddit, r/legostarwars · Open the thread

"Mainly went for the dark falcon since it's sold out everywhere near me." Four days later, on r/legodeal, u/49Bangbang49 reported a retailer restock that went fast: "The Dark Falcon sold out online within 2 hrs." Two hours is a short window, and those were not lego.com sales.

Our take

Check the 75389 page daily this week; buy at $179.99 the day it reads Available now. It sat on Sold out for at least 15 days and moved to Temporarily out of stock on Oct 25, the first change our tracker has logged. Retailer restocks, per Reddit, have lasted hours.

Buy now if you see it at $179.99 anywhere you trust; the badge says lego.com will not carry it for long. Skip or wait if you want a Falcon on the shelf this month: 75375 was Available now at $84.99 and has no badge.

What we don't know yet: whether the new label brings real stock before December, and whether LEGO keeps to Brick Fanatics' December 31 date. On our watchlist: we re-read the 75389 page with every catalog fetch and log any change.

This take uses only the lego.com data and sources cited above, checked Oct 25.

How we checked this

On Oct 25 we read the 75389 product page in a desktop browser for label, price, stock, pieces, age and reviews, and took the 75375 and 75192 rows from our lego.com catalog fetch the same day. Earlier labels come from our checks on Oct 10, 13, 15, 18, 21 and 23 and from our change log. We read Nerdist's and BricksUp's 2024 launch reports, Brick Fanatics' retiring list (updated October 13), and the Reddit comments through the Arctic Shift archive. Cents per piece is our arithmetic. A second pass compared every number with our source table. We haven't built this set.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the LEGO Dark Falcon 75389 retiring? Yes, by lego.com's own label. The 75389 product page shows the Retiring soon badge at $179.99. On Oct 25 it read Temporarily out of stock, after reading Sold out in our checks from October 10. LEGO gives no date, and the set has been missing from lego.com's Retiring soon category in our checks.

When will the LEGO Dark Falcon retire? LEGO has not said. Brick Fanatics' retiring list, updated October 13, puts 75389 in its December 31, 2026 group, which is a fan-site date. What lego.com shows is the badge and the stock label, and on Oct 25 that label was Temporarily out of stock.

Is the Dark Falcon back in stock? Not on Oct 25. The label changed from Sold out to Temporarily out of stock, but there was no Add to Bag button and no restock date. Check the product page itself, not the Retiring soon category, which has not listed this set in our checks. A return could last only days.

How much is the LEGO Dark Falcon? $179.99 on lego.com in the US as of Oct 25, for 1,579 pieces, about 11.4 cents a piece by our arithmetic. That is the same price Nerdist reported at the June 2024 pre-order, so the set has not had a price rise on lego.com.

What minifigures come with the Dark Falcon? Six, per Nerdist's launch report: Darth Jar Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke and Jedi Vader. Nerdist calls them reimaginings of familiar characters, from the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy special on Disney+. Darth Jar Jar plays on an old fan theory that Jar Jar was secretly on the dark side.
