LEGO DREAMZzz sets retiring 2026 are not a short list from one theme: they are the whole theme. On October 20, 2026, every one of the nine DREAMZzz building sets on lego.com had the Retiring soon badge, from the $34.99 Mateo vs. Cyber Brain Mech to the $149.99 Nightmare Shark Submarine. Only five could still be ordered, and two of them shipped right away. LEGO has not said the theme is ending, but the dates point that way.

LEGO DREAMZzz sets retiring 2026: the quick answer

All nine. lego.com's DREAMZzz theme page listed 14 products on October 20, 2026. Nine were building sets, and all nine carried the badge. Two sword accessories had it too. The only DREAMZzz build without it was 71494 Zoey's Time Owl, marked down 30 percent, and Brick Fanatics dates that one to July 31, 2026. You can see every set on one page in our DREAMZzz theme hub.

Key Takeaways

  • 9 of 9 DREAMZzz building sets have the badge, $779.91 and 8,203 pieces together, marked 7+ to 9+.
  • 5 can be ordered, 2 ship now: 71499 and 71492 were Available now; 71500, 71514 and 71495 shipped in 60 days on October 20.

  • Highest rated: 71515 Tiger Shark Tank, 5 stars from 14 reviews, but temporarily out of stock on October 20.
  • Lowest cost per piece you could order: 71495 Mateo vs. Cyber Brain Mech at about 7.6 cents on its $27.99 sale price.

Why every DREAMZzz set has the badge

Brick Fanatics noticed the change in January. On January 28, 2026 it wrote that "the LEGO Group has pulled forward the retiring dates of this year's releases". The five sets that had just come out "were originally due to be available until the end of 2027", and three 2025 sets that were due in July 2027 "have had seven months shaved off their shelf lives". Its conclusion: "every single LEGO DREAMZzz set will now retire by the end of 2026."

It was careful about what that means. In the same article it said "short of official confirmation from the LEGO Group we're really just connecting dots here". It also noted that December 31 is "the date by which they'll leave production (rather than a hard and fast date by which they'll be pulled from shelves)". We found no LEGO statement either. What lego.com showed on October 20 matches the fan site's reading: no DREAMZzz building set without the badge except one that Brick Fanatics expected to be gone already.

The TV show points the same way. LEGO's newsroom announced on May 26, 2025 that season three episodes "air worldwide from June 5th". Wikipedia's article on the series, as read on October 20, 2026, calls it "a third and final season releasing on Netflix on June 5, 2025". Brick Fanatics quoted the show's head of story, Tommy Andreasen, saying he "can't confirm a new season".

The 2026 sets: Tiger Shark Tank, Dino Jet, Fox Guardian Mech

Brick Fanatics gives five sets a release date of January 1, 2026: 71508, 71512, 71513, 71514 and 71515. They are the newest. 71515 Tiger Shark Tank ($139.99, 1,548 pieces) builds, in lego.com's words, "a tiger shark tank toy with a tail and side pods or tiger shark ship toy with a cannon and side shooters". 71514 Dino Jet ($99.99) becomes "a fierce brontosaurus toy or battle-ready stegosaurus toy". 71508 Fox Guardian Mech ($79.99) has the most reviews of the nine, 24, at 4.9 stars.

The 2026 sets came with a run of short films on LEGO's YouTube channel, Dream Guardians Unleashed. LEGO's description of episode 5 says the dream chasers "dream craft their guardians, including the Fox Guardian Mech, Dino Jet, Crocodile Submarine, and Nightmare Scorpion Digger":

Two can no longer be ordered: 71512 Crocodile Submarine, Sold out since October 11, and 71513 Nightmare Scorpion Digger, Sold out on October 20. The Crocodile Submarine had the lowest cost per piece of the nine, 6.3 cents, which does not help when it cannot be ordered.

The 2025 sets: Nightmare Shark Submarine and the rest

Four badged sets have a June 1, 2025 release date in Brick Fanatics' table: 71492, 71495, 71499 and 71500. 71500 Nightmare Shark Submarine is the most expensive at $149.99 and can be built as "a shark submarine toy or a hammerhead shark battleship". It has only 4 reviews. PrinceSugarySloth103, a Verified purchase reviewer, wrote on January 7, 2026: "9 yrs old, absolutely loves it."

71495 Mateo vs. Cyber Brain Mech is the odd one. Brick Fanatics put it in its July 31, 2026 group, yet on October 20 lego.com still sold it, with the badge, at $27.99 instead of $34.99, on a 60-day ship date. cassiefrass_4562, who received it free from LEGO, wrote: "My 9-year-old was able to put it together in a few hours."

What buyers say about the theme going away

Some reviewers on lego.com have noticed. TeddyM, reviewing the Tiger Shark Tank on May 3, 2026, wrote: "We are really sad this theme is being discontinued." The same review blames marketing: "My son only heard of this theme because he stumbled across the TV series on Netflix." And SeniorEyeHalfSpoken wrote on July 8, 2026 that the Nightmare Shark Submarine "was the final set completing my full, 100% DreamZzz collection."

Analysis: buy now or wait for a sale

The pattern from other themes says do not count on stock lasting to December 31. In our LEGO NINJAGO retiring list and Creator 3-in-1 retiring list, every set Brick Fanatics dated to July 31, 2026 was Sold out or Retired Product on lego.com by October 11. DREAMZzz is catching up: eight of the nine badged sets were Available now on October 11, but on October 20 only two were, three were on a 60-day ship date and four could not be ordered. 71495 was still on sale two months after its fan-site date. Only 71495 and the unbadged 71494 were discounted. The sets marked 7+ and 8+ suit younger builders; our LEGO age range guide explains what those marks mean.

Our take

Based on the lego.com pages and Brick Fanatics' dates above, if a child in your house likes DREAMZzz, buy this holiday season rather than later: all nine sets carry the badge, two are Sold out, two more were temporarily out of stock on October 20, and no new DREAMZzz set appeared on the theme page. The Tiger Shark Tank is the best rated of the nine, but it could not be ordered on October 20. Of the sets you could order, the Dino Jet ($99.99, 4.9 stars from 14 reviews) has the lowest cost per piece at full price, on a 60-day ship date; for delivery now, Mateo's Spray Paint Truck ($99.99) and Mateo's Fire Chameleon ($54.99) were the two in stock. On a smaller budget, the Mateo vs. Cyber Brain Mech at $27.99 is the cheapest per piece you can still order. Skip waiting for the Crocodile Submarine on lego.com; it was already Sold out. We will re-check badges and stock every 14 days through December.

How we checked this

On October 11, 2026 we read lego.com's DREAMZzz theme page from its page data and opened the product pages of all nine badged sets and 71494, copying price, pieces, age mark, rating, stock and order limit from the visible header and the build options from each product description. We opened the Customer Reviews of 71515, 71500, 71508 and 71495 and copied quotes with name, date and whether the reviewer was verified or received the set free. We read Brick Fanatics' January 28, 2026 article and its retiring page (updated October 7, 2026), and LEGO's YouTube page for episode 5. On October 20 we read the theme page and the ten product pages again in a headless browser, re-opened the reviews of 71515, 71500 and 71495 to match each quote, and re-read the Brick Fanatics, LEGO newsroom, Wikipedia and YouTube sources. Totals and cents per piece are our arithmetic, and a second pass compared every number with our source table.
