Seven more were on a later ship date, and the 11 others, including most of the big dragons and mechs, were out of stock or sold out.

Prices are lego.com US list prices on October 19, 2026, and none showed a discount; our October 20 catalog read found the same prices. Stock is as of October 20 for the 12 sets in that read and as of October 19 for the eight that were off the Retiring soon page (71847, 71846, 71836, 71834, 71857, 71856, 71830 and 71827). Cents per piece is our arithmetic. The lowest is Tournament Temple City at 7.2 cents, then Zane's Ultra Combiner Mech at 8.4; the 4+ sets are the highest, led by Ninja Spinjitzu Temple at 25.3 cents.

The three 14+ NINJAGO sets
71814 Tournament Temple City ($249.99, 3,489 pieces) is the biggest set on the list and a lego.com Exclusive. It was the only 14+ set you could still order on October 19, on a 60-day ship date with Backorder. Brick Fanatics dates its release to June 1, 2024, the oldest of the three. LazyRayStudios, marked "Verified purchase", wrote in June 2025: "I have had my eye on this set since it first came out. In and out of the cart it went." The same review adds: "Of course the price is a bit steep".
71847 The Guardian Dragon ($149.99, 1,650 pieces) read Temporarily out of stock. It is a display piece more than a toy, according to AlisonY, who received the set free from LEGO: "id definitely say this is for a adult who collects legos because they is very limited movement to the dragon once built".
71846 The Fire Knight Mech ($119.99, 996 pieces) was Sold out with the badge. Brick Fanatics dates both it and The Guardian Dragon to June 1, 2025.

Analysis: the dragons and mechs are already scarce
Brick Fanatics' September update introduces the theme with: "From mechs to dragons and temples to more dragons, these are the LEGO NINJAGO sets still due to be retired in 2026." On lego.com, those are exactly the sets that are hard to get. Of the eight badged sets priced at $49.99 or more, only Tournament Temple City could be ordered on October 19. 71836 Arc Dragon of Focus ($99.99), 71857 Ninja Vehicle Tree House Battle ($79.99) and 71830 Kai's Mech Storm Rider ($49.99) were Temporarily out of stock, and 71834 Zane's Ultra Combiner Mech ($99.99) and 71856 Jay's Transforming Car ($54.99) were Sold out.
The Arc Dragon had 4.9 stars from 37 reviews. PopularVardy060, marked "Verified purchase", wrote: "The Arc dragon is now one of my personal favorite dragons I have."

What happened to the July sets. Brick Fanatics' retiring page, last updated October 13, 2026, put six NINJAGO sets under "Retires July 31, 2026". On October 19 none had the badge and none could be bought: 71848 The Temple Bounty ($199.99, 2,387 pieces, 14+), 71845 Lloyd's Jet Mech, 71832 Thunderfang Dragon of Chaos and 71842 Rontu the Master Dragon read Sold out, and 71843 Rogue's Mech Dragon Rider and 71844 Ninja Combat Vehicle read Retired Product. Sets can leave before or after a fan-site date; the product page is the check that counts.
Some badged sets are new. Brick Fanatics dates five of the 20, including 71857, 71856 and 71854, to January 1, 2026, so they will have been on sale for about a year if its December date holds. We saw the same pattern in our LEGO Minecraft retiring list, where most badged sets were 2025 releases with stock warnings.
Our take
Based on the lego.com pages above, NINJAGO is a theme where the badge arrived after the stock problems. If a big dragon or mech is on a holiday list, check its product page now: most of them could not be ordered on October 19. Tournament Temple City is the one large set you can still order, and at 7.2 cents it has the lowest cost per piece on the list, though it ships on a 60-day date. The small sets that are Available now, such as the $19.99 Dragon Spinjitzu Battle Pack, are the safe gifts. Every other theme with the badge is in our LEGO sets retiring in 2026 list, and the LEGO City retiring list covers the other big kids' theme. We will re-check badges and stock every 14 days through December.
How we checked this
On October 11, 2026 we read all three pages of lego.com's NINJAGO theme from the page data and opened the product pages of the 20 badged building sets and the six sets in Brick Fanatics' July 2026 group, matching each by set number and copying price, pieces, age, stock, order limit, badges and rating from the visible page. We opened the Customer Reviews of 71814, 71847 and 71836 and copied the quotes with name, date and whether the reviewer received the set free. On October 17 and again on October 19 we read the theme page, the same 26 product pages and those three review sections. On October 20 our lego.com tracker read the Retiring soon list and the product pages of 71808 and 71839, which were off it. We read Brick Fanatics' retiring page (updated October 7, re-read on October 17 and 19 in its October 13 version) and its September 5, 2026 update for the date groups and release dates. Totals and cents per piece are our arithmetic, and a second pass compared every number with our source table.
